History of Weber Canyon, Utah
Taken from the Utah Place Names. (Links Added)
-

Weber Canyon (Morgan) is east of Ogden, with the Weber River draining through it. The obstruction in the lower Weber Canyon where the cliffs extend to the waterline, caused the pioneers a great deal of trouble, forcing them to seek another route. Weber Canyon is the "low pass" (an Indian term for Wasatch) to the Wasatch Mountains.
