EAGLE CITY

Eagle City (Wayne) is a ghost town site on the southeast slopes of Mount Ellen of the Henry Mountains, near the head of Crescent Creek. Bromide Basin is two miles west. It was a small mining camp established in the 1880s for the mines in the Bromide Basin area. By 1900 it was abandoned. The name comes from the area's isolation, altitude, and the prevalence of eagles.
