History of Forest City, Utah
Taken from the Utah Place Names (Links Added)
-

Forest City (Utah) is up American Fork Canyon, four miles northeast of Tibble Fork Reservoir at Dutchman Flat. Forest City was a mining town of the 1868-69 period. As the mine resources depleted around 1878, the town was abandoned. The name comes from the beautiful setting in this alpine forest region. Today it is a ghost town site only.
