KANESVILLE

Kanesville (Davis) is four miles south of West Weber and four miles west of Ogden. The first settlers were Orin Hedlock, John Atkin, and their families. On April 27, 1886, this district separated from the Hooper Ward and organized under the name of Kanesville, honoring Colonel Thomas L. Kane, a close friend of the Mormons. Today the community has been absorbed into the surrounting communities.

John W. Van Cott

NOTE: Kanesville is in Weber County.
