History of Peoa, Utah

PEOA

Peoa nine miles north of Kamas on US-189. It was settled in 1857 by Judge William W. Phelps alongwith several others. Phelps named the town an Indian name, Pe-oh-a, "to marry," which was found carved on a log at the site.
